Welcome to WeBuild Jamaica. We are a community-centered voluntourism initiative created to mobilize service, solidarity, and shared purpose across Jamaica.
WeBuild Jamaica was born in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, when communities across the island faced widespread disruption to agriculture, livelihoods, and shared spaces. In response, we set out to build a structured, respectful way for volunteers, including members of the diaspora and international partners, to support recovery efforts while strengthening local economies.
Our model connects hands-on service with community-based travel that supports local economies and long-term recovery. Volunteers work alongside local leaders, farmers, and community organizations while staying with partner accommodations of every size, ensuring that time, talent, and spending flow directly into the communities hosting them.
Our goal is to become Jamaica’s premier voluntourism platform, rooted in cultural pride, local leadership, and nationally aligned recovery priorities. Every project deepens connection, honors Jamaica’s people and culture, and delivers meaningful impact where it is needed most.

At WeBuild Jamaica, voluntourism is grounded in respect for our people and places. Volunteers stay in community guesthouses, local partners, and select hotel collaborators, ensuring that every dollar strengthens Jamaica’s recovery. By working alongside residents, restoring shared spaces, and honoring cultural roots, each trip becomes a meaningful exchange where communities benefit directly and visitors experience Jamaica in its most authentic form.
